Garden Step Ladders: Decoration
Tips
Three rung wooden garden step ladders can
beautify your lawn, display your plants, shrubs and flowers, and be easily
decorated to enhance your home's landscaping. You can even use these small
garden step ladders in an indoor garden, arboretum or any room of the house to
display plants, store CDs or show off your favorite framed photos.
If you'd like to use your garden step ladders for potted plants on your lawn or
in an interior garden, they're easily decorated.
The materials you'll need are clay pots - a small, a medium and a large one.
You'll need pipe as well - two pieces long enough that they will go through a
little beyond the top of the middle and bottom clay pots. You'll need three
flanges that will hold the pipe and then three saucers that will keep the
flanges from being visible. You'll need a metal file and a bit for grinding, as
well as an electric drill and epoxy or adhesive.
Once you've selected just the right pots to display on your decorated garden
step ladder, gather your flanges, saucers and pipes. The grinding bit will be
used to enlarge the hole in the bottom of your largest pot so that it is the
same size as the hole in the flange. Use the metal file to remove any rough spot
or bumps. You'll now need to drill a hole in the saucer the same size. The
adhesive or epoxy goes around the outside edge of the pot's bottom and with this
you stick the flange to the pot.
You then glue the flange to the inside of the saucer, taking care that you've
hidden the flange. You repeat the process for all pots, and then point and
decorate the pots and garden stepladder as you wish.
