High Performance Narrow Width
Step Ladders
Narrow width step ladders are ideal for use in
manholes or other confined spaces. They are rigid, non-conductive ladders with a
three hundred pound capacity and fiberglass construction. Their narrow width
makes them ideal for small areas and places where frequent repositioning is
needed.
Most narrow width step ladders have a maximum width of just 12-1/8 inches which
is the base width. This allows the ladder to be used in very narrow
environments. The ladders also feature very heavy duty 1-5/8 inch D-shaped
serrated aluminum rungs. The side rails are made of extra thick fiberglass with
a vinyl coating. There are hoop style handle ends that allow the ladder to be
easily removed from above manholes or other confined spaces. In addition a
thirty-six inch long rail sleeve prevents abrasive damage to the fiberglass side
rails from manhole rims or other edges when being used in small confined spaces.
Because of a riveted rung to rail construction connection the high performance
narrow width step ladders are more rigid than all other ladders. The riveted
rung to rail construction connection gives the ladder added strength and allows
a person to replace the rungs. The aluminum rungs on the ladder are connected to
the fiberglass side rails through the use of a heavy gauge aluminum plate and
eight solid rivets.
Extra-wide hoop style safety shoes on the ladders also allow easy access and
removal. In addition, it provides excellent traction and stability on wet or
rough surfaces. These hoop shoes are reinforced with heavy gauge aluminum plates
for added strength and support along the critical stress areas.
