The Werner attic ladder is not difficult to
install if you follow these simple instructions:
Step by step: install a Werner attic ladder
#1: Locate the gas strut posts, rotate the post upwards so that it slides into
the slot and tighten the nut and bolt.
#2: Lift the ladder and hang the slots on the head plate over the hooks of the
frame. Do not remove the plastic tie that holds the ladder sections.
#3: Put washer on lag screw and drive screws through the 2 slots designated with
a "2" Tighten.
#4: Attach the two upper links over the standoff and when they are in place
fasten a nut to each bracket.
#5: The gas struts should be snapped over the ball joints on each side of the
frame and use the wrench to compress the struts by turning the gear mechanism on
each side of the frame. Turn a revolution at a time so that the gear rack will
compress the struts via three 'tabs'.
#6: Drive the lag screws through the bottom hole of the rack to secure. Thread
the small end of the rope cord through the hole and make a knot.
#7: You need to verify that the frame is properly positioned so close the ladder
and make sure the door is flush around the edges. When the frame is correctly
positioned secure with the 8 lag bolts in the remaining holes.
