The Werner aluminum extension ladder is an ideal
roof ladder. These Werner roof ladders come in the form of the 500, D1100,
D1200, D1300, D1500 and D500 series. They range is capacity type from Type I to
Type IAA.
The Werner 500 series is rated at 250 pound capacity. It features a removable
top fly section that can be used as a single ladder. The bottom base section and
top fly section can be used together to form a forty foot extension ladder.
There is a heavy duty rope and double pulley system to lift the fly and
intermediate sections. Total this ladder reaches up to sixty feet and weighs
close to two hundred pounds.
The middle option is the Werner D1300 series which has a 250 pound capacity. The
total length with all the section is twenty-four feet with a maximum working
length of twenty-one feet. It weighs a total of thirty-nine pounds.
The Werner D500 series is the extra heavy duty extension ladders. They have a
375 pound capacity and is one of the best ladders on the market today. After
thirty-two feet it is rated only for a three hundred pound capacity. It features
heavy duty pivoting free swinging aluminum shoes with slip resistant treads and
replaceable steel ice pick plates, notched shoes that allow the shoes to
completely close to a normal position. Gravity spring rung locks with a spring
activated nylon flipper. The total weight of this ladder is forty-nine pounds
and it has a maximum working height of twenty-one feet.
